A sexy new forbidden romance from #1 NYT Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely... It should have been a simple play… She needed a football player to step up and be the star for a charity calendar. I needed a sharp and savvy publicist to manage a brand-new sponsorship deal. I scratched her back. She scratched mine. And oh hell, did Jillian ever drag her nails down my back on one hell of a hot night. Okay fine, it was several hot nights on the road. Now we’re back in town and it’s time to set the play clock back to when we were simply player and publicist. Given the way the last few years have gone, I can’t risk this deal, so it's hands off for us once again. Trouble is, I want more than than just another night with her. What’s a guy to do when he's always been most likely to score, but the woman he’s falling for is just out of bounds? I don't date players. And I definitely don't sleep with players. And I absolutely don't fall for a certain player when I get to know him and learn he's more than just sexy -- he's clever, funny and has a heart as big as his . .. well, you get my drift. But my job is at stake, and I can't afford to lose that as well as my heart. The problem is, I think I've already lost that game. What's a girl to do when the clock is running out, but the man she's falling for is off limits?

MOST LIKELY TO SCORE is a brand new standalone sports romance written in dual POV!

EXCERPT

~JONES~

“Love it,” Christine says emphatically, her lips and that metal hoop in the bottom one the only parts of her face visible since the lens covers the rest. “How about a little tough-guy look now?”

Because tough guys hold footballs in front of their junk.

“This is my best badass pose,” I say, narrowing my eyes and staring at the camera like I’d stare at the secondary of the Miami Mavericks.

“Oh yes, more of that, right, Jillian?” Christine shouts to the other person here in the studio with us.

That person is Jillian, and she hasn’t looked my way since I strolled in here and dropped my drawers. Damn shame.

From her spot leaning against the far wall, the team publicist answers in a crisp, professional tone I know well. “Exactly. We love his tough-guy face.”

She doesn’t even look up from her phone.

I keep working it for Christine, doing my best to make sure my blue eyes will melt whoever is looking at the picture when the magazine hits newsstands and Internet browsers in another few weeks.

It’s an evergreen kind of issue, since the body edition is one of the most popular. Gee, I wonder why. I’ve no doubt this shot of me with a football for my skivvies will quickly surpass the previous most-searched-for image of yours truly—the game-winning catch I made in the end zone in the Super Bowl two years ago.

But, to be fair, there’s another shot of me that’s searched for maybe a tiny bit more. I like to pretend that shot doesn’t exist.

“The camera loves you,” Christine croons as the snap, snap, snap of the lens keeps the rhythm.

“The feeling is entirely mutual,” I say, pursing my lips in an over-the-top kiss.

Christine laughs. “You are my favorite ham in all of sports, Jones. That’ll be a perfect outtake for our website.”

“That’s a brilliant idea,” Jillian chimes in. “Make sure to send me a copy for social, please.”

“Absolutely,” Christine answers.

I sneak a peek at the dark-haired woman by the wall, that silky curtain of sleekness framing her face as she smiles a bright, buoyant, outgoing grin at the photographer then drops her head back down.

Damn.

Jillian Moore is one tough nut to crack.

I’m nearly naked in front of her, and she hasn’t once looked my way.

As the woman behind the lens shoots another photo with my favorite ball covering my favorite balls, Jillian doesn’t even spare another glance.

I’m going to need a whole new playbook to get this woman’s attention.

"The combination of heart, humor, and heat is enough to have me fawning all over Jones." -Sarah-Musings of the Modern Belle

Jones Beckett is cleaning up his act, long gone are his party boy ways. In order to help him stay on the straight and narrow his agents asks the Renegades publicist, Jillian to help. Jones is over the moon at the prospect of spending time with Jillian, his favourite past time is flirting with her. What neither of them really considered was the effect working in close proximity would have on their unrequited attraction. But what happens when they realise that attraction is mutual? Lauren Blakely has done it again! I have fallen in love… again! Is there a book boyfriend of Lauren’s I haven’t fallen head over heels in love with? I don’t think there is. She just has this way with her male characters. I am a huge fan of her male POV, are we sure she’s not a man? She always gets it so spot on. That being said, I really loved that this book was a dual POV, getting insights into both Jones and Jillian really made their story stand out. I love the way Lauren writes, it always makes me feel such a vast array of emotions. I swoon often, which is a given really, sometimes even shedding a tear or two, and laugh, oh boy, do I laugh. She is hilarious, the thoughts and situations these characters come up with. I read this book and devoured it, I was hooked from the very first page, so much so, that I couldn’t pass up listening to the audiobook when it released today. I liked the cover a lot, especially the audiobook cover's inclusion of the narrators names. I like that it's similar to the MVP cover but still distinctly its own. Although it is a sports romance you don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy it. This is a story about love, a story about family, and a story about following your heart.

Jones is all the things. He is sweet and sexy, funny and charming. Jillian is the ultimate professional, she’s the person you want on your team. As a football fan, I’m telling you, I want Jillian taking care of my guys. I loved that her outward appearance was the total opposite of how she really felt, especially where Jones was concerned. Her inner monologue was hilarious. The sexy times were timed so perfectly for this couple, they suited the story and the situation. They were steaming too. The way their relationship progressed was so very J&J. The way they tried to fight how they felt and neither knowing the other shared their feelings. There wasn’t a lot of conflict, which again, I really liked. The banter was pure perfection, I love that anyway, and Lauren Blakely always writes the best banter, this couple was no exception. I looooove these characters. Jones and Jillian, it even has a nice sound to it, right? The supporting cast (so to speak) is really fun, too. It was great getting to have that little catch-up with Cooper and some of the other guys… and women from MVP. The family aspect of this book was a wonderful addition, it’s something that we see a lot of from athletes and including it for Jones’ really gave an added dimension to his character. Cletus, oh my word! Yes! I adore him so so much. I want him in my life.

I’ve spent the day listening to this dual narration and I have no regrets. I was so excited when I heard Most Likely to Score was going to be from a dual POV, Zachary Webber was fantastic performing Most Valuable Playboy, but getting both POV’s for this book was a great idea. Once I heard Zachary would be back and Andi Arndt was with him, I was super excited, their voices blend so well together that each book really is perfection. Both Andi and Zachary have a great range and each character sounds distinct and individual. Their performances always bring all the emotions to the surface, I can’t help but react, whether that’s laughing, swooning, or even shedding a tear. I couldn’t imagine anyone else narrating Jillian and Jones. The production was smooth with no issues, I loved the cheering and football sounds at the beginning and end of the production, it gives it a nice flair.

*At the end of the audiobook is an excerpt from Hard Wood, narrated by Sebastian York – I’ve listened to this book and let me tell you, it’s fantastic, you’ve not heard anything until you’ve heard SebYo narrate a cat. If you need more convincing, listen to the excerpt, it’ll whet your appetite.

Hands down, my favorite thing in the world is to score. Touchdowns.

Don't let the fact that I'm the leading pick in the MOST LIKELY TO SCORE charity auction fool you. These days, I'm only a player on the field. I've kept my pants zipped all season long -- and it has been long -- because nothing's more important than leading my team to victory every week. Except maybe escaping from the team owner's recently-widowed and handsy-as-hell sister who's dead set on winning more than a date with me. Enter Violet and a well-placed Hail Mary. She's my best friend's sister with a smile as sweet as cherry pie and a mind that runs quicker than the 40-yard-dash. After Violet saves the day with the highest bid, I don't even give her a two-minute warning before I kiss her in front of the whole crowd and then announce that she's my girlfriend. Which would be fine except my agent tells me we have to keep up the act while he's negotiating my contract. Violet takes one for the team and pretends to be mine, but our boyfriend-girlfriend scrimmage quickly turns into a full contact sport, and I want it to go into overtime. The problem is -- I've been riding the bench for years. How can a guy like me, who finally has a chance to prove his worth on the field, convince the girl she’s most valuable to his heart? MOST VALUABLE PLAYBOY is a brand new standalone sports romance written in the guy’s POV!
