ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Kelly. I live in the North East of England with my husband and our two pets. Brady, a long-haired grumpy tabby cat and, Bishop, a crazy Shihtzu. And last year we adopted a little boy – he’s our world, but a handful, so you’ll notice I am not reviewing as often right now. I also proofread for several authors, edit for a couple, and help with social media, as well as providing audiobook services – so it leaves little time for actual reviewing, I’m hoping to get back into the swing of it though. I work shifts, so I’m around at the weirdest times, generally when the rest of England is asleep. I also volunteer as a librarian at a community library (best job ever!).
I have a passion for books. I love reading, I always have, from a very young age, however, in recent years that passion has evolved and my tastes have expanded and now includes a variety of genres and my obsession with audiobooks. In fact, these days you’re much more likely to find me with my earbuds in and listening to my latest audiobook find than you are to see me with a paperback or kindle. Not to say I don’t still love them because I do. I usually partake in the Goodreads challenge but it’s rarely 100% accurate because I forget to update it.
I love being able to share my thoughts about my current read/ listen and the reviews are always my own honest opinion, good or bad, sometimes to my own detriment. I know you may not always agree with my thoughts, just because I like something it doesn’t mean you will, and just because you like something, well, it doesn’t mean I will. That’s the joy of reading, right? We all take something different from every book we read.

Not all reviews will be 5 stars, a lot will, because, I read/ listen to books that I think I’ll enjoy. I use a 1-5 star rating and usually break it down by story, performance, cover and overall (this may change as I think of other criteria). I base the rating on whether I enjoyed the book, the narration, and if I connected with the characters. Things I did or didn’t like about the story, and the cover. I try and be as constructive as possible, I’m not above gushing if I really loved a book. I don’t believe in being mean, so I always try to find something positive to say. If I really can’t, then I may not post that review at all. The scale of content is 1 -5 which I use to indicate my feelings on the book. 5 being the most my heart can take.
The reviews you find here are primarily audiobook reviews and in the romance genre and its sub-genres. I am very picky, there are certain topics within romance that I struggle to read and like it or not, if I feel it’s necessary I will pop a side-note/ warning at the bottom of my review – leaving it up to you whether you read it or want to go into the book blind… so to speak. I may throw an occasional non-romance review in if I’ve been asked to review it or I loved the book so much I felt I needed to share. I actually read/ listen to many genres, with the exception of horror, I’m not really a horror fan.

My device of choice is the Kindle Paperwhite that is waterproof and has Audible – a girl needs here eBooks and Audiobooks together and easily accessible.
