I'm on a roll, all this catching up I'm doing. Because Fling is a novella and the review is shorter, I've included it within this post for Right. It's best read/ listened to after Right anyhow. Stay tuned for the review of Trust... coming soon!

My childhood was perfect. I’ve led a charmed life, and I’m not going to blow it now by picking the wrong guy. I’ve got my sights set on my brother’s best friend. He’s known my family for years. He’s reliable and kind and handsome. Sure, he’s been avoiding me since I was six. I’m a bit aggressive for him, maybe. But he’s the one… right?

Everly is obsessed with her brother’s best friend, Finn, he is it for her. She has a plan, and nothing is going to change that. Until one day she meets her match in Sawyer, Finn’s older brother, he knows all about Everly and he’s about to turn the tables because he wants her and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Can this be their happily ever after, or are they doomed to fail?
Jana Aston has a wicked sense of humour. I laughed out loud multiple times. She’s hilarious. I may have shed a tear too, she has a great balance of funny and emotional in her books. I’m a lover of banter and this book has it in abundance. I love how Jana writes her books and hooks the reader, and even changes their mind about a character. It was fun to see a couple of moments from Wrong from Everly’s perspective and to be introduced to some characters. The side story of Sandra and Gabe was sweet, and I was super excited to learn that Fling was their story, so once I finished Right I dived right into Fling. I love the cover, I think the bright background is eye-catching and having a suited guy on the cover doesn’t hurt either. I think it’s great that the narrator is named on the audiobook cover.
I have to be honest, I didn’t like Everly to begin with. I thought she was delusional and quite frankly a stalker that Finn should have called the police about. However, she grew on me, the more we saw her with Sawyer, the more I liked her. By the end of the book I was loving her and wondering how I could get a friend like her, yes, I’m a mess. She was entertaining and always had a plan, she was determined and wanted the best for people, even people she’d only just met. How can you not love someone like that? I think it was an aspect to her personality that I was overlooking but when I thought about it, I kinda just nodded my head and said, ‘oh yeah’ – full credit to Jana for creating such a complex character. I really liked Sawyer, even though I wasn’t sure how things were going to go, whether he was going to be mean and play with Everly, as a means of payback or whether he was serious, but once I realised he was just a nice guy, I was all in! I thought he was funny and charming. I liked that he was a happy guy and even when things got tough, he left that at the door (so to speak) when he was with Everly. It was very endearing. I loved that he wanted to woo her. Then when the twist happens, swoon. I think he melted my heart.
So, I thought their relationship was a little weird, but in a good way, the way they started out which was unconventional, to say the least, but soon progressed into something enjoyable. I liked the inside jokes they shared it lightened the experience. The twist was very well done, and I enjoyed that aspect to it. I don’t want to say too much because you really need to experience it for yourself. It was super cute. Also, the fish, oh my word, the cutest. The sex scenes were on fire, I loved how they fitted with the story. What was really nice with this book is that although we get a tiny bit of conflict, it’s over pretty quick and for all Everly’s actions in the past she doesn’t blow up with drama. Which was great character progression and I think that is when she fully won me over, how she reacted and how she was with the changes, it was beautiful.
Erin Mallon needs to narrate everything. My text messages, my emails, calls from my husband… all of it! Her male voice is perfection! You don’t need two narrators when Erin is working, she’s that good. Total narrator crush… if you can’t tell. She was amazing as always and brought these characters to life. Her narration of Jack was the sweetest thing. I loved how she conveyed the emotional aspects of this story, it really gave these characters a hidden depth.

I was so excited to listen to Sandra and Gabe's story. Thank you to Jana Aston for giving us this little beauty.

Fling is a stand-alone novella.
I have a crush on my boss' best friend.
At least it's not my brother's best friend.
Or my best friend's brother.
Or...never mind. It's all pretty cliché.
And worse? My boss' best friend is his business partner. Which sort of makes him my boss, too. Okay - it's not sort of. It's definite. Gabe Laurent is off-limits. Totally off-limits.
Which is fine. I make do with my imagination. He'll never know. Ever. Unless my work bestie passes me an '80s-style teen movie sex quiz during a meeting, and I fill it out.
And it ends up in Gabe's hands....

If you’ve read/ listened to Right you’ll know all about Sandra and Gabe, this is the story of their fling, how it came about and what happened next. Prepare to swoon.
This was such a cute little novella. I love that Jana Aston gave us this story. It’s like she knew her readers would want to know what happened after that Christmas party. We need details. We’re all basically Everly, wanting the deets. And because Jana is awesome, she gave them to us. It was cute, hot and sexy with a dose of humour. Everything you could possibly want in a novella. I have to say I adored Preston, I hope he gets his own little novella because that would be awesome. The cover is great, I loved the colour and a hot guy in a suit and glasses, sheesh, sold! I also love that both narrators are named on the audiobook cover.
I loved Sandra, she first appears shy but once she felt comfortable with Gabe she really opened up and became her sexy and sassy self, and it was wonderful. Gabe was sexy as all heck, no wonder Sandra spent her time fantasising about him. I can’t really blame her, heck, I was right there with her most of the time. I loved his gruff exterior because it really contrasted with how sweet he was. There are a couple of moments in this book that just had me swooning, completely. Gabe really knows what he’s doing in the bedroom department too, sigh, that man is sex on a stick. It’s a novella, and only just over 2 hours long so lots happens in a short time but it worked really well and nothing feels rushed.
The narration was splendid, Erin Mallon always delivers, and this was no different, I adored how she performed Sandra she really brought out the shy and sexy personality. Lance Greenfield was a wonderful Gabe, he performed the older and gruff character well, the jealousy was believable. This is the first time I’ve heard anything narrated by Lance and I know I have a couple sat on my audible app waiting and I’m more excited to listen to them now. I thought Erin and Lance’s voices complemented each other really well. The production was fine, with only an issue that seemed to occur on Lance’s performance and not consistently, which was a strange sound, the best way to describe it is of lips touching and when I increased the speed a tad and listened again I didn’t hear it at all.
