Logan Bennett, CFO of Bennett Enterprises has no time for love or any interest in it, for that matter. His family disagree and set him up with his brother’s fiancée, Ava's best friend, Nadine Hawthorne, who has just moved to town to start her own business. She has no desire to meet a man, especially after the way her last relationship ended, she wants to focus on her career. Logan is sure he can resist his family, but once he meets Nadine, he thinks a bit of fun wouldn’t do any harm. Sparks fly early on and soon the couple cannot keep their hands to themselves. Will they be able to overcome their past relationships and create something long-lasting together?
I am loving this series. I didn't think anyone could compete with Sebastian Bennett but Logan is definitely giving him a run for his money. It was great seeing more of the Bennett siblings, I want them to adopt me! I cannot wait to listen to more of their stories.
Layla Hagen has an amazing talent for immersing the listening into the story and making them not want to leave. Her writing is smooth, humorous and emotional, she creates characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with. I particularly enjoyed the storyline of this book, sexy millionaire falls for a feisty business owner, with a few twists thrown in to make us wonder.
I loved Nadine, she was feisty, didn't take any crap and was focused on building her career. She fought hard, but in the end, she couldn’t resist Logan’s charms and who could blame her? I loved that she was building her business her way, that even though she could have accepted help at any time, she wanted to do it herself.
Logan Bennett stole my heart, I am not joking. He was sweet and sexy, and I loved that even though he knew Nadine could do things herself, he supported that and was there to help, if, and when she needed it. Of course, he's a guy, so he might have got a little carried away at times but it just made me love him more! He was very much the protector of his family and that comes across in his character and interactions.
I loved the chemistry between Logan and Nadine, it was easy to understand why they couldn’t resist each other. Their relationship was sweet and sexy, and the sex scenes were off the charts smoking hot! I loved how Layla wrote those scenes. I liked that the relationship didn’t have a lot of conflict, sure, there were moments of unease and I wasn’t sure how it was going to play out, but overall it was a sweet romance.
Carly Robins is amazing and I've yet to find a book that she didn't impress the heck out of me. This book was no different. She was great as Nadine and really gave life to the character.
I'm pretty sure that this was the first book I've heard narrated by Nelson Hobbs, surely, I'd have remembered because he is awesome. I enjoyed every second of his performance and I cannot wait to listen to more. He was the perfect choice for Logan Bennett, I cannot imagine anyone else being able to convey his sweetness and his passion better than what Nelson did.
