I want to say a massive congratulations to Heather Lyn on the release of her 3rd book; Heart's Desire. This book is amazing, I am so honoured that I had the opportunity to read it before its release.

Need to catch up on the rest of the series first? Hearts Ablaze and Burning Love are available now. Although each book is a standalone, they are best read in order. The characters are interconnected throughout the books.

Review:

I am really struggling to write this review, not because I have nothing to say but because the book was so good and I know my words will never do it justice, but I'm going to try.

The Hearts on Fire series by Heather Lyn is one of those series' that when a new book is released I cannot wait to read it, I put all other books on hold and just dive in. Heart's Desire does not disappoint, it matches, maybe even surpasses the previous two books. Heather puts her heart and soul into these books and it shows.

I went through so many emotions reading this book. I laughed, I cried, I sent messages to Heather that ranged from 'I hate you' to 'I love you' and everything in between. Those of you that are fans of Noah and Grayson will not be disappointed either, they are around and seeing their progression from the first two books to now is an actual pleasure. Some authors struggle after a successful debut release, not Heather, she is truly a talented writer that deserves every success.

The emotion conveyed in this book is surprisingly impressive. I devoured the book in a day, I just couldn't put it down. Heather Lyn's writing just grabs the reader and inserts them into her world of sexy firefighters, emotionally driven subjects and characters. I cannot recommend this book/ this series enough, if you like character driven books, this series is one you'll want to grab asap.

Heather Lyn writes books that rip your heart from your chest, she then plays with it, before shoving it back in. You're left feeling exhausted, emotionally drained and all the better for it. She never ceases to amaze me; her talent is astounding.

Carmen Davis comes to live back home after a difficult relationship, she's suffering but hiding it from her family; just not well enough. Her brother Noah knows something isn't right but is he prepared for the truth? Hunter Daniels works alongside Noah and from the moment he meets Carmen, he knows they're meant to be. But can their relationship handle what Carmen is hiding? Are they strong enough to weather the storm of secrets and self-doubt? You'll need to read the book to find out.

Carmen melted my hard heart, I felt so much for this character; what she experienced, how she felt. Her journey was heart-wrenching but so beautiful, seeing her learn how to open up and love again. The relationship between her and Noah is just so sweet. I loved how Heather conveyed the sibling love and conflict which so many people experience. Then, of course, there is Hunter; sheesh that man! ...is it getting hot in here? He is funny and charming, so cocky but in an endearing way. At one point during the book, my heart was breaking for him - that's all I'll say about that, don't want to ruin it, but just know that he'll make you feel for him, you might even feel the need to send the author a message and ask WHY?!?!?!

The character development and progression through this book is fantastic, you feel like you are right there with Carmen and Hunter - you feel every tear, every smile, every crack in the armour. And it is beautiful.

After finishing this book, I had one question; when is the next book out? The answer you'll be pleased to know is SOON. I, for one, cannot wait. It is the final book in the Hearts on Fire series and I have a feeling this book is going to wreck me. (That is not a challenge).
